What you are going to learn

A few more words about this package

This package is for anyone struggling with doggy adolescence, and/or reactivity. I will help you become an expert in reading your dog and managing the behavioural challenges you're currently dealing with. Once we've got some management, and pre-training, in place, we'll start working on changing how your dog feels about their triggers, using positive, kind and ethical methods, to build trust and strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Over the 4 sessions, you'll master new life-skills with your dog, understand them better, and be better equipped to handle whatever distractions come your way!

    What's included?

    • Free assessment, up to 90 mins (usually £65)
    • Personalised Training Plan with in-person support. I'll teach you > you teach your dog
    • Ongoing support and progress tracking
    • Additional videos, handouts and support materials for you to keep, forever!
    • Bookable sessions, from inside the portal at times to suit your schedule
    • Remote sessions available
    Overview

    What we will do together

    1. Understanding Adolescent Dog Behaviour

The best way to make progress in training your dog, is by understanding what's going on underneath. What's driving their behaviour, and why?

In this section you'll also find some resources to help with some typical challenges including barking, over-arousal (excitement/reactivity) and jumping up. Let's dive in and get started.

    2. Initial Assessment of Your Dog's Behaviour

Following receipt of your completed questionnaire, we'll take a deep dive in to what's going on.

We'll book your assessment session, either in-person or remotely, and if you've got videos of your dogs behaviour, now is the time to send those to me. After this, you'll receive a written plan for training, and you can book your 4 sessions, all from right here in the portal.

You'll also find some pre-training exercises in this section, to get you started before we meet.

    3. Implementing the Training

Now that you've started working with me, and we've begun to build some solid foundations, over the next few weeks, you'll be practicing and noting down your progress.

This section includes a training journal for you to write down any important things about training, how you feel it's going, and also you have the opportunity to upload a video of your training, for review.

    4. Follow Up Sessions and Progress Tracking

You've worked hard, put in the time and effort, and now you're well on your way to having that calmer, more engaged dog you remember as a puppy, only now they're older, a little wiser, and all about you again.

Training is a lifelong process, but now you've got the skills you need to see you through the tough times, and build on that for a bright future. This will be your final review session.

    About

For much of my life, I worked training humans, to work with different systems, and find their team spirit, in various organisations. I have a degree in Business Management, with most of my electives focused on people, L & D, and relationship building. During COVID-19 I took the opportunity to gain some professional qualifications in my field, and that brings us right to today! I specialise in working with Border Collies, though I'm thrilled to work with any breed.  I just find that Collies often seem to struggle more in our busy, urban world, and as a result, need lots of help with some of the more 'reactive' behaviours.

Welcome, and I can't wait to work with you.

    Course reviews

"Angela is an incredible dog trainer and I cannot recommend her enough! She has knowledge of how to help your dog in most things whether that be loose lead training for a less stressful walk for both owner and pet, or helping you and your dog deal with reactivity. In my own experience with Angela and her training, I saw the effects of her tips within a few weeks after 4 years of constant pulling and reacting. Almost a year later my dog and I can have a normal walk with very much improved reactions to other dogs! Whats great too is that she advocates for the dog and helps train them into setting their own boundaries which makes a great compromise between owner and dog! We meet in the middle where both parties are happy. Overall, her help has massively improved my dog and Is lives together and has even brought us closer together with such a close and trusting bond."

"I have to say that Angie is simply magic with my Border Collie! What progress we have made in just a few weeks of working with her. Her extensive knowledge allows her to know exactly what my dog needs, and she has training activities which are easy to follow, and are good fun too! I’m so glad that we found Angie, as she is helping us to truly enjoy life with our dog!!"
